I’m currently working on a couple of series and thought it would be a good idea to give you an update on where I am with each of them. This is not only for my own sake, to keep my head on straight, but also for yours.
Now, let’s get right into this update. The Tower series is a continuation of the Titan series, more commonly referred to as Nova Terra. We are already on book number six of the Tower series. The first five books have followed Thorn’s adventures in the Endless Worlds, and book six is no different. I’m in the middle of working on it and expect to be done by the end of next week. However, I don’t know when this video is coming out, so by the time it does, there’s a good chance that I’ll already be done with book number six.
I often get asked how many books I’m going to write. The reality is, I don’t know if I’ll ever stop writing about Thorn and his companions. Maybe I will, or maybe I’ll take a little break. But I’m aiming for 12 books in the Tower series. It might end up being 15 or even 20. I still have a lot of story to tell, and as is my habit, the story has stretched out and expanded over time. So, if you like Thorn, his friends, and enjoy following his adventures in the Endless Worlds, don’t worry. They’re not going to end anytime soon.
This brings us to another series set in the Endless Worlds, the Battle Mage Farmer. This is probably my most popular series, and I’m excited to start working on book eight. Book seven is already out, and books eight and nine are coming later this year. They will wrap up the story we are telling about Jon Sutton, Ellie, and the farm. But I do have some exciting news. I’m just finishing up a novella for the Battle Mage Farmer series. It’s going to be part of a Kickstarter campaign coming on April 9th. There will be an exclusive novella with that campaign. If you’re into D&D or just want to read more about the Battle Mage Farmer universe, you’ll want to pay attention to this.
Dreamer’s Throne, my third series, is progressing nicely. The first three books are out, and the fourth book is set to launch on June 26th. I’ve had a blast with this story. I often get asked how many books there will be in this series, and I’m not 100% sure. As a full-time author, I have to balance the critical response to my books. Dreamer’s Throne, while loved by many, did not have as wide an appeal as I had hoped. It hasn’t been adopted by the majority of my readers, which means it’s languishing in relative obscurity. This also means that if I choose to write in this series, I’m choosing to write something less profitable. There’s nothing wrong with that, but it does have to take a back seat to some of my more popular stuff. That’s just the reality of the economics of being an author. While I love to tell stories, this is also how I put food on my table. So, I have to prioritize books that sell over those that don’t. Unfortunately, at its current stage, Dreamer’s Throne falls into the latter category.
That doesn’t mean I’m going to abandon the series. In fact, I’m excited to continue with it, but it will probably have a slower release than some of my other series. That said, book four is finished, and I’m excited to start working on book five towards the end of this year.
I just released an announcement about Soul Caller, which is came out on April 2nd. I’m excited for people to read this series. It’s going to be a six-book series, and I have the story pretty much set in my mind. I’m going to try really hard not to add more to it like I did with the Titan series, the Tower series, and Battle Mage Farmer.
In addition to Soul Caller, I have another new series coming out at the end of September called Iron Tyrant. The first book is Chain of Feathers. It’s a different style of storytelling for me, more classic fantasy. It has a younger protagonist who will age up during the series. I think people will really enjoy it. The first book is already done, and the second book will also be done soon. They’ll have a pretty rapid release schedule moving forward. This one’s going to be six books as well, sort of in the same vein as Soul Caller.
I also have a new series coming out called Exlian Syndrome. This is going to be a step into science fantasy. It’s a little bit more technology, a little bit more of an advanced setting, but still firmly fantasy and LitRPG. That one is coming out in the fall.
Finally, I have two secret projects that I’m working on. One that I expect to be done with by the end of this month. It’s been in the works for three or four years. The other one I’m working on with a co-writer. Both of these are going to be very different from everything else that I’ve ever done. I’m curious to see if I can make these transitions because they’re just different books. One of them is LitRPG, the other is not.
That’s a bit of an update on where I am with all of my series. Thank you so much for hanging out with me as I went through my updates. I hope you have a fantastic day and are enjoying my books.
