Battle Mage Farmer - Seth Ring

If the question were one of sheer power, John Sutton would have nothing to worry about.

After earning his discharge from the royal army, he’s been granted a farm in a remote mountain valley. But despite years of crushing his enemies and gaining near-limitless abilities, John still hasn’t cracked the rules of the game. Now, his Doom Points have begun ticking higher—and John can’t make out why. All he knows is that once his Doom Points reach 100, the apocalypse begins. Unfortunately for John’s retirement plans, the fate of the world now rests on his shoulders. Again.

Oh, and there’s also the farm to run.

A World Scarred By War

Only a generation ago, things were so different. Peaceful kingdoms funded mage schools, which studied mana and used its power to improve society. Then some nobles got greedy—and directed their mages to research forbidden spells. The world devolved into chaos. Mage battles killed millions, creating mana-irradiated wastelands where nothing can survive. And although magic is officially banned, stability and order seem unlikely ever to return.

Environment The Robain Mountains

Judging by appearances, John couldn’t have been assigned a lovelier place to retire. He’s surrounded by rugged gorges, silver brooks, and verdant forests—and nearby Fairford seems to be the model of a small, sleepy village. In this game, though, there’s always a catch. It doesn’t take long for John to discover his quaint little valley is simmering with mystery.

Who—or what—is behind a recent string of ruthless murders? Why are there so many class holders in an out-of-the-way place like Fairford? And what could possibly be drawing the shadowy reconnaissance teams of foreign nobles?

Class Holders

While there are many types of class holders, they all channel mana to attain superhuman abilities. Below are a few of the first classes you’ll encounter in the Robain mountains.

  • Barbarian

Gigantic, reckless, and brutally strong—with a shield of mana instead of armor.

  • Rogue

Known for stealth and sleight of hand, you’ll only see a Rogue if they want to be seen.

  • Royal Knight

Trained as elite palace guards, Royal Knights can sense and manipulate mana at will.

  • Tamer

Tamers can bond with wild animals to control the behavior of individuals or groups.
